We LOVED reading about Paige's story and hope you will too. Check out her Q&A below!
Q: What initially inspired you to book a boudoir session?Â
I have always struggled with liking my body and feeling sexy. A friend of mine knew these struggles I had and texted me IMMEDIATELY after she finished her boudoir session and said it was the best thing she's ever done for herself and told me to look into it because it really helped her.
Â
Q: How did you feel leading up to your shoot day?
I was really nervous. I kept thinking "Can I do this?" "What if my outfits look bad?" "What if I look bad?"
Q: What was it like seeing your images for the first time?
Mel showed me pictures as we were shooting and I was "ok alright those look pretty good." But I feel like I was also not letting myself get too excited because I didn't want to be let down. BUT THEN I saw my sneak peak photo and I was like "holy smokes that's ME?!"
I must have looked at the sneak peak 100+ times that day. I literally felt myself walking taller and happier.
Q: Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and viewing your images? How has boudoir influenced how you see yourself as a woman?
Â
It was definitely a huge step towards appreciating the parts of my body that I hated before. When my fiancé says he loves my thighs or my hips I actually believe him now instead of thinking that he's just saying it to make me feel better, and I feel like I can compliment myself now.
I think I never fully felt like a woman? I had never confronted my femininity before. I work with kids so I don't really dress up day to day or wear make-up but I feel like I know a bit more about how to harness it now.
Q: Would you recommend the Mizztique Boudoir Experience to others?
100% yes.
Q: Is there anything else you'd like to add to your interview?
I think something beyond just body image and the photos that I'd like to comment on is the session itself. It was refreshing to do something like that for me and taking that time for ME because I feel like I'm always thinking about others first and thinking about what I have to do next... so to do a photoshoot for several hours where you need to be present and only thinking about body positioning was a nice change of pace.
You also get to spend time with someone who is excited for you and is cheering you on the whole way. During hair and make-up, Mel sat with me and really listened to why I was doing this and things I hope to get out of it and she pointed out some things about me that I hadn't thought about! It really is an experience to nurture the soul as well.
Thank you for sharing your story Paige! You were an absolute joy to work with and I'm so happy you loved so many of your photos. Thank you again for hiring my team and I! :)
